When Lexi Smith went to pick out the Dalmatian puppy that would become her new best friend, she didn’t pay much attention to the puppy’s spots. She knew that the beautiful markings that make Dalmatians so unique can sometimes change with age. Lexi picked her new pup (whom she named Wiley) based on their shared love of snuggles, and she was excited to watch him grow. To her surprise, Wiley’s spots developed in an adorable way. This dog wears his heart on his nose.

#ad I'm never going to make fetch happen as long as my allergic itch stands in my way. Thank goodness for APOQUEL! It's a treatment that relieves my allergic itch, so I can get back to having a ball and showing off my A-Game! Share a photo or video of your dog's A-Game (a favorite pose, trick — anything that shows off his or her personality) using #MyDogsAGame to trigger a $10 donation by @zoetispetcare to its K-9 Courage program supporting retired police and military K-9s! Do not use APOQUEL® (oclacitinib tablet) in dogs less than 12 months of age or those with serious infections. APOQUEL may increase the chances of developing serious infections, and may cause existing parasitic skin infestations or pre-existing cancers to get worse. It wasn’t clear at first whether Wiley’s heart-shaped nose would be a permanent facial feature. Dalmatians can get new spots up until they’re seven months old, and it’s impossible to predict what a puppy will look like as an adult dog.
Lexi says that Wiley had the heart on his nose when they first met, but she wasn’t convinced it would stay. She assumed her new pup’s spots would morph and change. But instead of changing shape, the heart-shaped marking got more defined. Now as an adult dog, Wiley shows his heart to everyone he meets. It’s impossible to miss his unique facial feature.
According to Lexi, Wiley is
“54 pounds of goofy, clumsy, sassy, hungry, cuddly, curious, wild, crazy, silly, happy love.”
Thanks to his adorable good looks, Wiley is now an Internet star. His mom shares pictures of his life on his popular Instagram account, and it’s clear that this dog was born to be in front of the camera.
Wiley’s pictures show him enjoying life in Colorado with his doting mom and canine friends. He goes on hikes in his home state and has even done a lot of traveling.
With 176,000 followers, Wiley’s Instagram account is still growing. People can’t seem to get enough of this unique-looking dog, and Wiley is happy to oblige. He’s had opportunities to play on the beach, climb mountains, and frolic through fields of wild flowers.
And when it’s time to slow down from his epic adventures, this cute pup is the first to snuggle.
Wiley is stealing hearts everywhere he goes, and it isn’t just because of the heart on his nose. His mom says he has all the stubbornness that comes naturally to his breed, but above all, Wiley loves people. Lexi works hard on his training so when they’re out in public, Wiley is always confident. He enjoys making new friends, and his fan base is constantly growing.
